For years, I’ve racked my brain trying to figure out how to organize the shoes that my husband and I take off when we walk through our front door; the ones that never quite make it back into the bedroom closet where they actually belong. I don’t want them just hanging out and piling up, but I’ve never wanted a regular shoe rack by our entrance either. My bag always ends up on a console that doesn’t actually have room for it and my jacket always finds itself slouching over a nearby dining room chair. After all my sleepless nights (not really) fretting over the fact that there was no solution, the answer has been so simple all along: a hall tree. A hall tree is a Jack-of-All-Trades that usually includes a coat rack, bench and storage solution all in one. I imagine it gets its name due to the fact that it’s, well, tall like a tree and the hooks are like…branches?
